Adah E. Anderson
Adah E. Anderson was a student at the Minneapolis Institute of Art from about 1914-1918. According to the Bulletin of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Vol. VII, February 1918, No. 3, she was enrolled in the department of Applied Arts and was awarded a special prize of $35.00 for a stenciled design on velvet by the Art Alliance of America at its Second Albert Blum Competition of Hand Decorated Textiles held in New York City. She is recorded in the 1940 census, listed as living in Minneapolis at age 48, apparently with her mother and siblings. It would be interesting to know what the life of this talented artist consisted of after her time at the Institute of Art. I have acquired a small lot of her student pieces, a few of which are presented here. (click on image for details)
